Elsie graduated from Southwest University of Political Science and Law with an LL.B. degree. She later received a Japanese Government Scholarship (Monbukagakusho) to pursue a Master of Laws degree in Japan. Most recently, she earned an LL.M. in International Financial Law from King’s College London. Elsie is dual-qualified in China and England & Wales, and is fluent in Mandarin, English, and Japanese.

 

Elsie brings extensive cross-border legal expertise, having practiced law in both China and the UK across different law firms, multinational in-house legal departments, and government agencies. She specialises in complex corporate transactions and the restructuring of large-scale companies in China. She has led many high-value projects including equity transfers worth billions of RMB, government land auctions, China’s first internet hospital collaboration project, and large-scale commercial real estate leasing transactions. She has guided numerous financial institutions and corporate clients in high-end enterprise reforms, investment strategies, M&A transactions, regulatory approvals, and dispute resolution.  

 

In addition, Elsie has extensive experience in foreign direct investment, cross-border financial product compliance and derivatives transactions, as well as in outbound investment matters involving Chinese enterprises, including state-owned entities.

 

Elsie’s practice focuses on business and commercial law, banking and finance, regulatory compliance and private client. Her industry experience covers aviation, infrastructure, finance, manufacturing, electronic products, real estate, and government regulation. Her ability to integrate legal expertise with deep industry understanding has earned her strong recognition among clients for delivering commercially practical solutions tailored to the complexities of cross-border matters. She is currently pursuing membership with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), and is committed to enhancing her capabilities in wealth planning, inheritance tax structuring, and trust arrangements.
