Xiufang is a registered lawyer of the French-speaking Bar Association of Brussels, Belgium. She focuses on Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions, and national security review of foreign direct investment under EU law. She also handles cross-border arbitration cases involving Chinese parties.
Xiufang graduated from East China University of Political Science and Law. After obtaining her undergraduate and master's degrees in China, she worked in a foreign law firm in Shanghai. She obtained the Chinese lawyer qualification in 2009. Subsequently, she studied in Belgium and obtained a master's degree in EU laws (LLM) and Belgian laws, as well as the Belgian lawyer qualification.
She has been practicing in Belgium for more than ten years, worked in several law firms in Brussels, and has also served as the head of M&A in a large multinational financial group.
She assisted Chinese companies entering the EU and Belgian markets, and has rich experience in handling cross-border M&A and trade disputes between China and Europe. In addition, being in Brussels, the center of the EU, she has actively expanded her long-term contacts and cooperation with the China Chamber of Commerce to the EU, the European Commission, other EU institutions and industry organizations. She follows up regularly on the latest developments in the EU's legislation and policies related to Chinese companies.
In the "Chambers Global Guide" 2025, she was also rated as an expert in Corporate/M&A (Expertise Based Abroad). She has served well-known Chinese listed companies, state-owned and private enterprises in the M&A and greenfield investment projects involving semiconductors, medical, pharmaceuticals, logistics, high-tech, infrastructure, new energy and other industries. In investments in sensitive industries, she also assisted Chinese companies in handling filing with the EU and Belgian national security review and interpretating export controls and other regulations.
She also represents clients in international arbitration for commercial disputes involving Chinese parties. She serves as an arbitrator at the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission and is frequently invited to speak on topics related to Chinese investment in Europe and the national security review.
