Dr William Guo is a qualified Dutch lawyer (advocaat) based in the Netherlands. He specialises in Dutch corporate law and employment law, and is also experienced in handling a wide range of commercial disputes. William has been practising law in the Netherlands for over ten years. He previously worked at two leading Dutch law firms, focusing on corporate law and M&A, before establishing his own firm in 2019.
William stands out as the only currently active Dutch qualified lawyer (advocaat) of Chinese origin, who was born, raised and educated in China before attaining full qualification to practice law in the Netherlands. Proficient in Chinese, Dutch and English, he has served as a long-term legal advisor to many Chinese companies operating in the Netherlands and has helped many Chinese businesses resolve various commercial disputes. With a strong academic background in international law and extensive practising experience in complex cross-border matters, he has gained wide recognition among his clients.
William studied law in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. He holds an LLB and LLM in Dutch law from Leiden University, a Magister Juris degree from the University of Oxford, and a PhD in Dutch law from the University of Amsterdam. In addition, he has obtained a Master's degree in Economic Law from China University of Political Science and Law.
In addition to his legal practice, Dr Guo is committed to sharing his profession knowledge and practical insights.
